Saehyun Paik is an artist currently based in New York. She was born in South Korea. She was grown up with many artworks from her mother, her mother was an art lover and her mother has a good aesthetic taste, which is she got affected by her mother's collected artworks. She was interested color, composition, Mise-en-scene, design, and uncommon beauty. When her teenage, her most friends are who inherent artistic talent people which is she spent time in the very competitive atmosphere with them. Even this time she already completed technical hand drawing & painting skills during high school student. And she already made careers by freelancer illustrator & designer work with magazine companies. After graduated high school, she worked for concept designer in the commercial design industry. After a few years later she's passionate got stronger for fine art than commercial design. Finally, she went Art Univ.(sadi: Samsung Art and Design Institute) in Korea and then moved to the US. Recently, she lively working in the art sector in the US. Currently, she is artist in residence at Chashama since 2019.

Difficulty adapting to social situations in her early years learned to create dialogues and rapports through art material themselves. At this time, exploring these 'conversations' by blending two or more media in each of her processes. Having former her communication style through painting repetition and leaning Saehyun continues to explore people without representing them.
Line can make a drawing, communication, it can songs, it creates rhythm, and it can express speed. I like to use parallel lines to make movement and elegant mood in my work. I always think many line pattern is elegant, and this is we can find easily around our life. examples of kitchenware, fabric wear, household products, fashion inspire me.
